I was able to catch the 2026 Pangos California State (3C2A) JC Final 4 this past Saturday and Sunday March 14-15 at College of the Sequoias (Visalia CA) – providing me with a good look of several quality California JC players.

Down 9 points at the half, Fullerton College/CA stormed back to edge defending champ CC San Francisco/CA 67-64 avenging their title game loss to the Rams last year. 6-3 soph guard Jaqari Miles scored a game-high 25 points to spark the Hornet come back Win.  Fullerton took care of Santa Rosa 90-65 in their semi-final victory while CC San Francisco had a hard-fought 73-71 win over a gritty Citrus squad in their semi-final. Perry Webster achieved his 3rd state title as a JC head coach while denying Justin Labagh his 6th state title. Labagh is currently #1 in California state junior college history with most state titles as a head coach (5).

In this player recap, I will highlight several prospects that caught my eye.

Kenyon DeMunyck           6-9     Fr.      City College of San Francisco (CA)
Top D1 prospect here turned in the top performance this weekend on a bad ankle in semi-final win over Citrus: 24 points (10/11 FG; 2/2 3FG), 10 boards and 5 blocks (plus several altered shots) in 28 minutes.  Very long and ultra-athletic rim-runner uses his 7-4 wingspan to be a more than formidable shot-blocker as well as a tool to score easily at the cup.  Very underrated 3-point shooter also has ability score off the bounce. UNLV, New Mexico, South Florida, San Jose State, UC-Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Florida Atlantic, Southern Mississippi, Idaho State (recent offer), Cal Poly and Long Beach State are among the growing number of schools showing interest in the 2026 NorCal JC Player of the Year.

Yoda Oke                         6-7     So.     Fullerton College (CA)
Tourney MVP averaged 17.3 ppg and 10 rpg over Fullerton’s three victories here including 14 points/10 boards in Final to claim 2026 title. Very versatile wing forward is a terrific student (had a 4.6 GPA in HS).  Orange Empire Conference Player of the Year and Sonora/La Habra CA grad just received a UC-Riverside offer and is being recruited by most of the Big West and higher academic programs back East.

Jaqari Miles                     6-3     So.     Fullerton College (CA)
While Perry Webster didn’t need Miles’ production off the bench in the Hornet’s blow-out semi-final win over Santa Rosa (Miles had just 5 points on 1/7 FG; 1/6 3FG), Jaqari was instrumental to say the least in Fullerton over-coming a 9 point half time deficit and storming back to edge defending champ CCSF in the Final by scoring ALL of his game-high 25 points (7/11 FG: 3/7 3FG) in the 2nd half (including several clutch shots near end of game). Orange Empire Conference selection prepped at West Ranch/Santa Clarita CA.

Jaedyn Patterson             6-1     Fr.      Fullerton College (CA)
St. Monica/CA grad had a perfect stat line (3/3 FG; 3/3 3FG; 3/3 FT) en route to 12 efficient points in Fullerton’s impressive win over Santa Rosa. Very good shooter and pesky defender.

Trey Thompson               6-2     Fr.      Fullerton College (CA)
Like Hornet teammate Jaedyn Patterson, Trey did not miss a shot (5/5 FG; 2/2 3FG; 2/2 FT) to total 14 big points vs Santa Rosa and followed up with 17 big points off the bench in the title game. Very good full-court defender had 4 big steals in the title game.

JJ Sanchez                       6-6     Fr.      Citrus College (CA)
Crafty scorer with very impressive basketball IQ has an old-school game that is difficult to guard. Former Montgomery/San Diego CA star kept Citrus close against CCSF with 15 points (3/7 3FG), 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks.

Donovan Pitts                  6-5     Fr.      Fullerton College (CA)
Lean wing can slither and score on way to cup. All-Tournament Team pick had 13 pts (6/11 FG), 4 boards and 3 assists vs. Santa Rosa.

James Moore                   6-1     So.     City College of San Francisco (CA)
All-Tournament Team selection had 22 points and 6 boards in Elite 8 win over San Diego City College.

Shane Lincoln                 6-5     Fr.      City College of San Francisco (CA)
Promising Bishop O’Connell/Arlington VA grad was productive with 12 points (6/10 FG), 8 boards, 2 assists and 2 steals in the title game.

Amir Meadows                 6-1     So.     Citrus College (CA)
St. John Bosco/CA grad is a very quick PG that is hard to contain off the bounce and is a very good on-ball defender. Amir had 14 points/4 assists versus CCSF in semi-finals.

Ahmaree Muhammed       5-10    So.     City College of San Francisco (CA)
Fast PG excels in the CCSF full-court up tempo environment. Oakland Tech/CA alum had 12 points (2/5 3FG), 3 assists and 4 steals in CCSF’s semi-final win over Citrus.

Travis Hightower             6-7     So.     Santa Rosa College (CA)
All tourney selection had 9 points/6 boards in semi-final loss to eventual champ Fullerton.

Kirby Seals                       6-7     Fr.      City College of San Francisco (CA)
Strong and physical PF is active and can score on the block. Archbishop Riordan/San Francisco grad was effective in the title game with 8 points (4/5 FG) and 5 boards in 21 minutes.

Leo Rickets                      6-0     Fr.      Citrus College (CA)
Tough, hardnosed lead guard had 12 points (3 threes) vs. CCSF. De La Salle (Concord CA) grad eraned All-Tournament Team honors.

Gavin Early                      6-3     Fr.      Santa Rosa College (CA)
Scoring WG was one of the few bright spots (14 points/5 rebounds) in Santa Rosa’s lopsided semi-final loss to Fullerton.  San Dominico (San Anselmo CA) product.

Bishop Brooks                 6-4     Fr.      Fullerton College (CA)
West Ranch (Santa Clarita CA) grad did not put up big numbers this past weekend but he has been on my recruiting radar for a long time.  Strong WG with well-built frame looks to play a bigger role next season as Fullerton looks to defend their 2026 crown.
