The 16th annual Pangos All-South Frosh/Soph Camp presented by Spalding was held last month (October 2-3) at Duncanville Fieldhouse (Duncanville TX). This event featured approximately 240 top 2024 and 2025 prospects (along with a few talented 2026 players) from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, New Mexico, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Kansas, Ohio, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, California, Indiana, Minnesota and Colorado. This camp has a long tradition of showcasing many of the best young talent of the South and boast alumni the likes of Trae Young, DeAaron Fox, Terrance Ferguson, Cade Cunningham, Tyrese Maxey, Charles Bassey, Greg Brown and Moses Moody.
The depth of the talent present here had media/scouts optimistic about the future of Southwest high school hoops and this platform gave talented young prospects in those classes a real opportunity to display their skills and future potential. The camp was loaded with athletic wings and skilled guards as well as several big men with length and excellent long-term potential. The top 60 players were selected by members of the national media/scouts present and were showcased in the two “cream of the crop” games held at the conclusion of the event. Unfortunately, there was not enough room for all of the kids deserving to be in the two all-star games so I have listed those not honored as all-star game selections but nonetheless impressive, as camp “honorable mention” at the end of this report.
Based upon their outstanding play, ESPN #3 Sophomore 6-6 Tre Johnson (Lake Highlands/Dallas TX) and 6-8 2025 Parker Jefferson (Waxahachie/TX) were named overall camp co-Most Outstanding Players.
In the Top 30 Game, it was a hard-fought defensive battle as the Black team came from being down 9 points in the 1st half to outlast the White squad 54-51 behind the impressive interior 2-way play of Top 30 Game co-MVPs 6’9 2024 Israel Nansha and his younger brother 6’8 2025 Jed Nansha. Leading the Black offensively was 6’3 2024 Jayden Gambrell with 10 points. The White squad was led by overall camp co-MOP Parker Jefferson with a game high 12 points.
In the Top 60 game, game MVP 6’3” 2025 Jared Nickens scored a game-high 18 points to spark the Black to a run-away 79-34 win over their White counterparts. 6’6 2026 Brayden Kyman added 10 points for the winning Black squad.
While this is a recap of the camp, please keep in mind that this is a very early look at underclass prospects that have much room for future growth and are all “unfinished” products.
Below, we will highlight the players that were selected to the Top 30 game as well as list the Top 60 Game selections and “honorable mention” camp players.
Top 30 Cream of the Crop Game Selections

Malek Archie 6’2″ 2024 McKinney (TX)
Athletic guard with nice shooting touch to the 3-point arc is quick off the bounce and is a solid defender. Archie (picked as the #7 player in camp by Ronnie Flores (Ball is Life/GrassrootsHoops.net) starts and plays a major role on one of the top HS teams in Texas.
Deontrell Barrett 6’0″ 2024 Grand Prairie (TX)
Scoring lead guard with 3-point range is a confident ballhandler and solid on-ball defender. Barrett has early offers from Texas A&M, SMU and Troy and followed up an appearance in last year’s All-South Top 30 Game with a repeat selection this year.
Landren Blocker 6’4” 2024 Little Rock Christian Academy (AR)
Strong and explosive WF plays extremely hard and has underrated perimeter touch. Younger brother of heralded 2023 guard Layden Blocker (Sunrise Christian/KS). Very good student (3.75 GPA) has an early offer from Arkansas-Pine Bluff and interest from the likes from Auburn, Baylor and Arkansas.
Terrion Burgess 6’8″ 2025 Marion Jr. High (AR)
Slashing young lefty is active on the glass and can finish in traffic. Passes well out of high post and can face and pop perimeter jump shots. Has early offers from Auburn, Texas Tech, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Central Arkansas and Alabama State.
Jimmy Cami 6’9” 2024 Redemption Life Tabernacle Christian (Tulsa OK)
Very long and active forward runs well in transition and can finish with authority. Scores well around cup and rebounds with energy. Good long-term upside. Cami was chosen as the #10 player in camp by Ronnie Flores (Ball is Life/GrassrootsHoops.net).
Jaden Constant 6’2″ 2024 Putman City West (Oklahoma City OK)
Athletic combo-guard is very effective off the “drive and kick” where he can utilize his fine passing skills. Nice spot-up shooter was selected as the #8 player in camp by Ronnie Flores (Ball is Life/GrassrootsHoops.net).
James Deloach 6’5″ 2024 Sylvan Hills (Sherwood AR)
Big wing has nice offensive scoring skills. Deloach has the athleticism to get to the basket quickly off the dribble as well as range to the 3-point line.
Turner Duncan 6’3″ 2024 St. Augustine (New Orleans LA)
Smooth jump shooter off the catch as well as off the dribble is a young WG with MM-HM potential.
Adlan Elamin 6’4” 2025 Bishop O’Connell (Arlington VA)
Very good shooter can dial from distance and also has the ability to finish at the rim. Rebounds well for size and is effective in transition.
Dalen Fuller 6’4” 2024 Union (Tulsa OK)
Athletic slashing WG was one of the top scorers here. Assertive off the dribble & quick in transition, Fuller also has good 3-point range on his jump shot and plays with intensity on the defensive end. Legit Sooner State HM target was selected as the #9 player in camp by Ronnie Flores (Ball is Life/GrassrootsHoops.net). Repeat Top 30 Game selection (also selected at 2020 camp)
Jayden Gambrell 6’3″ 2024 James Madison (Houston TX)
Houston area product can slash and score as well as spot up from behind the 3-point arc. Played well in a low-scoring Top 30 Game (had 10 points).
Hudson Greer 6’5″ 2025 Lake Travis (Austin TX)
Young, skilled and athletic swingman with natural scoring instincts is the son of former Esperanza (Yorba Linda CA) and St. Mary’s (CA) forward Josh Greer. Love the way he attacks the rim and his confidence in his jump shot. Southwest star in the making was born in Orange County CA. Greer got the nod as the #2 player in camp by Ronnie Flores (Ball is Life/GrassrootsHoops.net) and veteran national scout Van Coleman had him in his Top 3. Unofficially visited Texas in October and is getting interest from the likes of Arizona and Texas Tech. Terrific student is a top 30-50 national prospect in 2025.
Jai’Chaunn Hayes 6’5” 2025 White Hall (AR)
Hayes has all the makings of a future HM lead guard. Long and gifted with great feel and instincts as well as a smooth perimeter shot and tremendous passing ability. Scored in a big way here (averaging 30+ points in 3 camp games). Hayes was selected as the #3 player in camp by Ronnie Flores (Ball is Life/GrassrootsHoops.net) and veteran national scout Van Coleman had him in his Top 4. Jai’chaunn has early offers from Ole Miss (where his father and HS coach Josh Hayes played from 1999-2002) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff and should be a major in-state priority for Eric Musselman at Arkansas as well as top programs in the SEC and Big 12.
Cameron Jackson 6’9” 2024 Weiss (Pflugerville TX)
Big body is a rugged rebounder and has the strength to score inside on the block despite contact. Jackson’s early offers include North Texas, Louisiana-Monroe and Texas-San Antonio. Was mistakenly omitted in the original Top 30 Game selections announcement at the camp but is recognized correctly here for that honor.
Parker Jefferson 6’8” 2025 Waxahachie (TX)
Good looking freshman PF with size, offensive skill and strength as well as a nice face-up game topped off an overall camp co-MOP performance with a game-high 12 points in the Top 30 Game. Versatile offensive tools make him a difficult match-up problem. Very good student received an offer from Texas A&M shortly after the conclusion of camp. Jefferson is also receiving interest from Baylor, Texas and Arkansas and was tabbed as the #1 player in camp by Ronnie Flores (Ball is Life/GrassrootsHoops.net) and McDonald’s All-American and Spalding All-American Team selection committee member Van Coleman and made Frank Burlison’s Pangos All-South 1st team. Top 25 national prospect.
S. Trap Johnson 6’5” 2024 Belton (TX)
Very good shooter with nice length and athleticism drives to the cup and handles rock effectively. Johnson moves very well without the ball and plays under control and with poise. Southwest sleeper in national sophomore class.
Tre Johnson 6’6″ 2024 Lake Highlands (Dallas TX)
Athletic and sleek wing with terrific future upside is a dangerous player in transition with innate scoring skills in the half-court as well. Currently #3 in ESPN‘s 2024 national rankings, Tre already has offers from the likes of Baylor, Tennessee, Texas, Illinois, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Prairie View A&M and Alabama State with interest from UCLA, Houston, Kansas, Arkansas and Ole Miss. Started the camp off with a bang (or two) and didn’t look back en route to overall camp co-MOP honors. Invited to USA Basketball U16 try-outs last May. Tre’s dad Richard Johnson played at Baylor and Midwestern State.
Rayanne Lomboto 6’4” 2024 Brewer (Ft. Worth TX)
Very athletic swingman is an excellent rebounder and shot-blocker.
Ashton Magee 6’6″ 2025 South Jones (Ellisville MS)
Springy combo-forward is assertive on the boards and can finish in traffic. Showed ability to post-up and score with both hands as well as face-up to score. Impressive camp culminated in being selected to the Top 30 Game as well as the #6 player in camp by Ronnie Flores (Ball is Life/GrassrootsHoops.net). Magee has early offers from Ole Miss and Southern Miss.
Gabriel Mason 6’4” 2024 Kennesaw Mountain (Kennesaw GA)
I really like the versatile skill set and hoop IQ of this rangy WG. Very good student (3.7 GPA) is also an underrated defender.
Anthon McDermott 6’5” 2024 Hallsville (TX)
Hybrid-forward plays with energy and showed signs that he can connect on jump shots off the bounce. Active rebounder and defender too.
Jed Nansha 6’8″ 2025 Hillcrest (Dallas TX)
Rugged PF can score with authority at the rim and also takes pride on the defensive end. Jed has a high motor and competes from tip-off to final buzzer. Younger brother of 6-8+ 2024 Israel Nansha is an excellent student and both shared co-MVP honors in Top 30 Game with their tenacious defense that led their squad to the “W.” Jed has received interest so far from Florida, UC-Irvine and Lamar.
Israel Nansha 6’9″ 2024 Hillcrest (Dallas TX)
Hard-working and active PF competes on every play and attacks the basket with effectiveness when he faces up. Athletic rebounder is an excellent shot-blocker and rebounder. Capped off a great camp by leading his squad to a hard-fought win in the Top 30 Game and earning Game co-MVP honors (with his brother Jed) in the process. Noted national scout Frank Burlison had Israel in his Top 5 at camp. Israel has received interest so far from Houston, UC-Irvine and Lamar.
Gerard O’Keefe 6’4” 2024 IMG Academy (Bradenton FL)
Nashville TN native displayed a nice blend of nifty drives to cup to go along with flame-throwing ability from deep! Off the charts student too (4.83 GPA weighted). Noted national scout Frank Burlison had O’Keefe in his Top 10 at camp.
Jermaine O’Neal Jr. 6’4” 2025 Accommodated Learning Academy (TX)
Son of former NBA star with same name. JO II is starting to blossom into a D1 player in his own right. Ultra-bouncy guard was active off the bounce and is just scratching the surface of his vast potential. Plays HS basketball for TACA Storm in Dallas TX.
Jakeel Registe 6’5″ 2024 Episcopal (Bellaire TX)
Very bouncy and long swingman fills the lanes and can finish with authoritative flushes in transition. Solid rebounder and defender has a nice turn-around jump shot too. Very good student has early offers from Rice and Tulsa and was considered to be Top 10 in camp by veteran national scout Frank Burlison.
Johnathan Price 6’7″ 2025 Universal Academy (Coppell TX)
Price is quick and active on the glass and can finish consistently inside. Very high upside.
Chris Stacy 5’11” 2024 Jonesboro (AR)
Very quick PG is a pesky on-ball defender and terrific penetrator that can also make 3s. Noted national scout Frank Burlison had Chris in his Top 15 at camp.
Jaden Toombs 6’9” 2025 Texas Connections (Houston TX)
Young Big Man has nice hands and can finish on the block. Still not fully polished, Toombs knows how to utilize his strength and bulk down low to have an impact on both ends of the floor. Plays HS basketball for TACA Storm in Dallas.
Jamie Vinson 6’9″ 2024 St. Michael’s Catholic Academy (Austin TX)
Rim-running Big with agility and quick bounce always seems to be in a state of motion. Finishes everything he gets his paws on near the rim. Although still rather raw offensively, Jamie has excellent long-term upside. Vinson was selected as the #5 player in camp by Ronnie Flores (Ball is Life/GrassrootsHoops.net) and distinguished national scout Frank Burlison had Vinson in his Top 10 at camp.
Jaylen Washington 5’9″ 2024 Lake Highlands (Dallas TX)
Small but fast point guard pushes the rock well in transition and is a good facilitator,
Carlsheon Young 6’3″ 2025 Putnam City West (Oklahoma City OK)
Athletic and talented young guard attacks the rim well off the bounce and has an improved jump shot. Very good student was selected to Top 30 Game for second straight year (made Top 30 Game last year as an 8th grader too). Long time national scout Frank Burlison had Young in his Top 5 at camp.
