6-5+ 2020 Jaylen Clark (Etiwanda/CA) has committed to UCLA after recently visiting the Westwood camp. Nothing But Net Magazine’s #67 senior prospect chose the Bruins over USC, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico and joins 2020 McDonald’s All-American PG Daishen Nix (Trinity/Las Vegas NV) as Mick Cronin’s 2nd bluechip back-court recruit this recruiting year.
High-scoring wing guard has been a mainstay for adidas powerhouse Compton Magic Elite, leading CM to the title of the inaugural Fantastic 40 tourney in Las Vegas NV last August and earning tourney MVP honors in the process.
Clark was also a Top 30 game selection at last year’s Pangos All-American Camp, averaging 25.0 ppg (tied for #2 in the entire camp) and playing on a camp squad that did not lose a game. Clark was also a 2019 NBPA Top 100 Camp invitee in Charlottesville VA last June.
Jaylen currently has helped spark Etiwanda HS to a 25-2 record this high school season and what appears to be a high-seed in the upcoming CIF-SS Open Division playoffs.
