The 2023 Pangos Premier 80 Showcase tipped-off the July Live Period on the West Coast earlier this month on July 6th at McBride HS (Long Beach CA), showcasing a group of approximately 80 top prospects nationwide representing 19 different states and drawing a substantial number of college coaches.  Top scouts on-hand included Frank Burlison, Ronnie Flores, Devin Ugland and Paul Hernandez. BallerTV live-streamed all the games (with play-by-play) and are available 24/7 for replay at:

While there was a deep pool of quality prospects in the house this year (I counted at least 50-plus prospects that had short-term or long-term potential to be D1 prospects, below are 30 of the top players that stood out to me (in alphabetical order).  In the upcoming and subsequent Part II of this event recap, I will note additional players worthy of being noted.

Trigonis Top 30

Ray Adams                       6’7”    2024   North Thurston (Olympia WA)
One of the top revelations of the camp, Adams is a sleek swingman with a nice package of skills and athleticism.  Time to buy 2024 stock in this NW Greyhounds star who has the versatility to be a multi-position 2-way player at the next level.

Chris Arias                       6’6”    2024   Providence School (Jacksonville FL)
Jacksonville-bound WF is a tough competitor that is active in transition and on the glass. Versatile and rangy F produces at both ends and has a very good work-ethic. Pangos Premier 80 video-highlights:

Kaiden Bailey                   6’2”    2026   Crean Lutheran (Irvine CA)
Kaiden is one the most natural scorers in the national rising soph class.with a smooth as silk downtown stroke.  Crafty scorer at the cup too, this 2023 Pangos All-American Camp invitee scored a game-high 24 points in his 2nd game of the day. Washington State, UC-Santa Barbara, UC-San Diego, UT-Arlington and Seattle are among his early offers with UCLA and Oregon also showing interest.

Solomon Bailey                6’2”    2025   Crossroads (Santa Monica CA)
“Solo” is an athletic swiss-army combo-guard that is always in attack-mode. Bailey had an event high 27 points in his 2nd game of the event. Very good student (3.7 GPA) too.

Lonnie Bass                     6’8”    2025   Mater East (Las Vegas NV)
Strong and burly PF has the physique to bang inside as well as a soft shooting touch to extend defenses. Bass’ offers include Nevada, UT-Arlington and St. John’s. Good student too (3.3 GPA).

Jacob Bayla                     6’4”    2024   Valley Christian (Cerritos CA)
2023 Pangos All-American Camp invitee is one of nation’s most underrated high-academic (4.3 GPA) WGs that can finish through contact at rim as well as dial from deep. Here is an example of this Philippines U16 national team member’s ability to facilitate off ball-screen action:

Bishop Brooks                 6’5”    2024   Taft (Woodland Hills CA)
I really like the overall game of Brooks – a strong, physical and athletic WG with nice size and the versatile skill package to make an impact at the next level. ICAN All-Stars standout was also impressive at the subsequent Pangos Summer Sweet 16.

Christian Collins              6’7”    2026   St. Bernard’s (Playa del Rey CA)
Young forward brimming with excellent long-term potential is the son of once heralded SoCal HS star DeAngelo Collins (Inglewood HS/CA). Collins is a quick and athletic F with growing confidence and a name West Coast HMs should monitor.

Kenyon DeMuynck           6’9”    2024   San Leandro (CA)
Long and athletic NorCal forward runs the floor like a big gazelle and is active at all times on the glass. Prime time rim-protector has underrated scoring skills too (including range to 3-point arc). Pangos Premier 80 highlights:

Derelle Desire                  6’9”    2024   Juan Diego (Draper UT)
Salt Lake Rebels standout PF is a London England native and one of the top sleeper Bigs in the West. Very agile baseline to baseline, Desire is a long lefty that can finish with authority at the rim and is a premier shot-blocker too.  UC-Santa Barbara is among the schools now showing interest (head coach Joe Pasternack watched him at the Pangos Summer Sweet 16).  Here’s an example of his rim-protecting prowess:

Zane Gaul                        6’10”  2025   Prescott (AZ)
Strong and physical postman with ability to face-up as well as enforce the paint on the defensive end. Terrific student too (4.0 GPA).

Jayden Harris                   6’6″    2025   Windward (Los Angeles CA)
Harris is a fast-rising lefty swingman with plenty of bounce and a nice perimeter stroke. 2023 NCAA College Basketball Academy invitee is oozing with long-term potential. Very good student (3.7 GPA) received a recent offer from Missouri-Kansas City head coach Marvin Menzies.

Chris Holland                   6’2”    2025   Poly (Riverside CA)
High scoring guard with smooth and accurate perimeter stroke has a recent Cal Baptist offer.  Dad Patrick Holland played at Fresno State.  Pangos Premier 80 video highlights:

Presley Ibeh                     6’4”    2024   Highland Prep (Surprise AZ)
Athletic and active WG was one of the most impressive players here. Athletic slashing scorer with stop and pop ability is also a very solid defender.  Factory AZ 17u standout also played well at Pangos Sweet 16 and is a very good student too (3.5 GPA).

Nick Jefferson                  6’1”    2025   Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas NV)
Quicky and crafty lead guard can score points in bunches.  Figures to be a core piece of Grant Rice’s Gael squad next season as BG seeks to rebuild.

Devin Johnson                6’5”    2024   St. John’s Catholic Prep (Buckeystown MD)
Johnson made the trip out West and (like the Pangos Terrific 24 last April) did not disappoint. Wiry strong WG with legit perimeter stroke can put points on the board.  DMV sleeper is an an excellent student (3.7 GPA) worth giving a long look at.

Caspian Jones                 6’7”    2025   St. Mary’s (Phoenix AZ)
St. Louis MO native is a strong framed WF with a smooth pull-up J from mid-range as well as to the 3-point arc and enough bounce to flush it on defenders at the rim. Very good student is one of the Southwest’s top rising junior prospects. Got his 1st D1 offer from Missouri-Kansas City head coach Marvin Menzies recently.

Shamar Jones                  6’5”    2025   Mountain House (CA)
Jones has been a well-known name in the West for a while now. Chiseled WG is wired to score and is a NorCal rising junior mid-to-highs need to monitor closely. Played well for PHPS 17 at the Pangos Summer Sweet 16 immediately following the camp.

Nikolas Khamenia            6’8”    2025   Harvard-Westlake (North Hollywood CA)
Skilled and savvy forward can really shoot the rock and can score in a wide-variety of ways.  Excellent student had assistant coaches from Gonzaga, UCLA, Oregon and Oregon State as well as Pepperdine head coach Lorenzo Romar looking on. Khamenia’s fantastic performance here earned him event MVP honors.  Pangos Premier 80 video-highlights:

Malachi Knight                 6’3”    2025   Leuzinger (Lawndale CA)
Knight is a sharpshooting guard with blossoming athleticism. Belmont Shore 16u standout has been invited to upcoming NCAA College Basketball Academy in Memphis TN.

Ring Nyeri                         6’8”    2024   Liberty (Peoria AZ)
Long, wiry and productive WF is rail thin but competes on every play and is a versatile and athletic scorer and defender.  2023 Pangos All-American Camp invitee is also a very good student (3.5 GPA) and has an offer from Portland State. One of the West most underrated 2024 players.

Elias Obenyah                 6’3”    2026   Salesian (Richmond CA)
Skilled combo-G with great feel has the potential to be a national name in rising soph class. Rangy defender with ability to blow by defenders off the dribble to finish at the cup. Big time upside!

Sean Oliver                       6’7”    2024   Future College Prep (Los Angeles CA)
Oliver is a strong and explosive hybrid-F with a nice mid-range game. Best player out of Long Beach Wilson HS since Mike Wilder (UC-Irvine guard/currently UCI assistant) will spend a post-grad year in 23-24.

Will Overton                     6’7”    2024   Village Christian (Sun Valley CA)
One of SoCal’s top rising senior sleepers is a skilled combo-forward who has improved substantially over the past year.  Overton can finish around the rim as well as spot-up from range that extends to 17 feet.

Kyree Polk                       6’10”  2024   Vista Peak (Aurora CO)
Strong and burley Big Man with bounce to finish above the rim also takes up space in the paint and is a regular visitor on glass. Played well for PLUTO Prospects at Pangos Sweet 16 after the conclusion of the event.

Kendyl Sanders               6’7”    2024   St. Bernard’s (Playa del Rey CA)
2023 Pangos All-American Camp invitee (selected by media to Top 60 Game there) is a versatile, multi-positional player that is a late-blooming rising senior prospect. Sanders has missed or been less than 100% healthy in recent June and July live-period events due to knee soreness and tendinitis (dad Yamen Sanders is 6-9 and played at USC for George Raveling). Sanders received a Spring offer from UC-Santa Barbara and appears healthy enough to be on display this week at the NCAA College Basketball Academy in Memphis TN. Poised to be Tony Bland’s go to guy this season at St. Bernard:  Here’s an example of his ability to push the rock and get to the rim in the open floor (and finish with either hand):

Ramone Seals                  6’5”    2024   SLAM Charter (Tampa FL)
Strong, physical and explosive guard can finish through contact and is a physical defender.  Plays with an alpha-male mentality. Very good student (3.5 GPA) played in Nike EYBL earlier in year with Georgia Stars 17 – had a 12 point (5/6 FG) and 6 rebs game vs. Paul George Elite 17 in late April. Seals has recent summer offers from Grand Canyon, Kennesaw State, Central Michigan and North Carolina A&T.

CJ Shaw                           6’4”    2025   Mojave (Las Vegas NV)
Fresh off a terrific Section 7 AZ effort in late June with his Mojave/Las Vegas NV team, Shaw showed here why he is rapidly earning value as a top national prospect. High-scoring young lead guard can get buckets at a high rate and is nowhere close to peaking physically yet.  Shaw has early offers from UNLV and Southern Utah.

Dallas Washington          6’9”    2025   Santa Margarita (CA)
One of the most intriguing members of Cali’s 2025 class is Dallas. Son of Bay Area Ballers founder Nelson Washington, he has terrific length to go along with a nice skill package that together with hard work, projects favorable long-term. Good student (3.2 GPA) has early offers from Washington State, Pepperdine and Montana.

Brady Wooley                  6’9”    2025   Orono (MN)
One of the most promising young big men in the Midwest is the skilled and athletic Wooley. Top notch student (4.4 GPA weighted) is an excellent rim-runner and can finish with authority at the rim.  Brady came to this event a year ago and is noticeably improved since then. Wooley has an early offer from North Dakota with interest from Iowa, Iowa State and Minnesota.
