In my previous “Part I” of this four part series, I gave a brief report of the game results of the Pangos All-American Festival as well as an overview of the championship South squad.  This event was loaded with elite talent as it featured a plethora of 5-star and 4-star 2021 players including Top 10 prospects Clint Holmgren, Paolo Banchero, Jabari Smith, Mike Foster and Daimion Collins. Here is Part I of this report:  https://nbnmagazine.com/2020-pangos-all-american-festival-recap-south-team/

Below in Part II, we will highlight players that were members of the runners-up West team.

As previously indicated, BallerTV.com live-streamed all 4 games at the event (they are also now available for replay): https://www.ballertv.com/events/pangos-all-american-festival-4-2020

2020 Pangos All-American Festival West Team
(in alphabetical order)

Paolo Banchero               6-10    2021   O’Dea (Seattle WA)
Duke-bound post player was nothing less than a tour de force here! Physical and oh so skilled, Paolo is a dangerous threat from both the perimeter as well as in the paint. His combination of strength, length and elite perimeter as well as interior scoring skills makes his bonafide 2022 NBA draft lotto prospect.  Banchero averaged 23.5 points and 12 boards per game, leading his West squad to the Final where they lost a hard-fought game to the South squad.  For his impressive efforts here, Paolo was named Runners-up MVP. Presently ranked #2 by Rivals.com and #3 nationally by Van Coleman/Nothing But Net Magazine.  2020 Pangos All-American Festival Video-highlights:  https://twitter.com/Pp_doesit/status/1325258514944516099

Zaon Collins                    6-0     2021   Gorman (Las Vegas NV)
UNLV-bound floor-general is a smooth and savvy player that sets the table for teammates as well as anybody in his class.  Underrated athlete and scorer has led Bishop Gorman to 3 straight Nevada state titles in his tenure with the Gaels and is looking to make it 4 straight this season.  Presently ranked #36 by 247Sports composite and #40 nationally by Van Coleman/Nothing But Net Magazine.  2020 Pangos All-American Festival Video-highlights:

Nolan Hickman                 6-2     2021   Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant UT)
Seattle native is a very savvy floor general and sharp-shooting lead guard bound for Kentucky that is overdue for more national respect. Nolan has played himself into contention for a 2021 McDonalds All-American Game slot this Fall and his play here did nothing to stop that trajectory.     All-tourney selection had 24 points, 8 boards and 4 assists in the championship game.  Presently ranked #42 by 247 Sports composite, #52 Rivals.com and #60 nationally by Van Coleman/Nothing But Net Magazine.  Look for him to get a much deserved bump after national scouts revise their rankings this winter.   2020 Pangos All-American Festival Video-highlights:

Shane Nowell                   6-4     2021   Eastside Catholic (Sammamish WA)
Arizona signee is an athletic lefty wing with very nice 3-point range. Nowell connected for 19 points (including 4 “threes”) in the West’s semi-final blow-out win over the East.  Played very well with future Wildcat teammate KJ Simpson on the West squad here.  All-tourney selection is presently ranked #74 nationally by Van Coleman/Nothing But Net Magazine and #83 by 247Sports compsite.  2020 Pangos All-American Festival Video-highlights:  https://twitter.com/balldawgs/status/1326032666412556288

Kaden Perry                     6-9     2021   Battle Ground (WA)
Strong and very bouncy PF finishes everything around the cup with authority. Gonzaga signee is a dependable rebounder and rim-protector as well!  One of nation’s most underrated seniors is presently ranked #53 by 247Sports composite, #64 by Rivals.com and #78 nationally by Van Coleman/Nothing But Net Magazine.  2020 Pangos All-American Festival Video-highlights: https://twitter.com/balldawgs/status/1327396912438280192

Aidan Shaw                      6-8     2022   Blue Valley (Overland Park KS)
A very late addition to the event and one of only two 2022 players participating, Aidan is an elite HM forward with impressive athleticism and rapidly improving scoring skills.  Active on the boards and explosive at the rim, Shaw currently comes in at #18 nationally by Van Coleman/Nothing But Net Magazine and #48 by Rivals.com.  Has offers from Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, USC, Creighton, TCU, Iowa State, Wake Forest, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt and Wichita State.  2020 Pangos All-American Festival Video-highlights:  https://twitter.com/balldawgs/status/1327390635716866048

KJ Simpson                     6-3     2021   Chaminade (West Hills CA)
Bouncy combo-guard with plenty of scoring punch, Simpson is an Arizona signee that reminds me a lot of former Wildcat standout guard Nick Johnson.  KJ (16) combined with fellow SoCal combo-guard TJ Wainwright (14) to score 30 points in the West’s big semi-final win over the East.  Simpson is currently ranked #93 by Rivals.com and based upon his play with and against the elite talent here, that is too low.  2020 Pangos All-American Festival Video-highlights:

TJ Wainwright                 6-3     2021   Westchester (Los Angeles CA)
TJ won’t wow you with above the rim athleticism but this lefty is among the most crafty scorers in West with deep 3-point range and underrated on-ball skills. Wainwright displayed his versatile scoring skills in his 14 point effort (9 in 1st half) in the West’s semi-final win over the East.  After receiving prior offers from Washington State, Grand Canyon, UC-Santa Barbara and Pepperdine, TJ has decided to wait to weigh all his college options and this unsigned senior is shaping up to be a coveted Spring signee.  Presently ranked #95 nationally by Van Coleman/Nothing But Net Magazine.  2020 Pangos All-American Festival Video-highlights:  https://twitter.com/balldawgs/status/1326658617156624384
