The 2023 Pangos Platform Tip-Off kicked off the April live periods tonight (April 21st) at Bishop Gorman HS (Las Vegas NV).  While several of the top teams slated to participate like Elev8 Elite National 17, Paul George Elite EYBL 16 & 15, Los Angeles Rockfish, Team Build Up 17 and Belmont Shore 16 don’t start play until Saturday, there were plenty of promising prospects worth watching Friday night.

Below is a look at a few of the Day One players that stood out:

Kaiden Bailey                   6’2″    2026   Crean Lutheran (Irvine CA)
Bailey did all he could to keep his KOB Basketball 17u squad in contention with a very talented Vegas Elite EYBL 16 crew before faltering down the home stretch and dropping a 68-60 decision. After sparking KOB to a 27 ALL tie at the half with Bailey scoring 20 of his team’s points at the break, Bailey continued his hot-shooting in the 2nd half by pouring in a sensational 42 points (8 threes).  Owner of one of the purest outside strokes in SoCal, Bailey is a very crafty guard that looks for gaps in opposing defenses and then uses his high skill level and innate basketball instinct to put big numbers on the board.

Kendyl Sanders               6’6″    2024   St. Bernard (Playa del Rey CA)
One of the emerging West Coast sleepers on verge of making DI noise this Spring and Summer, Sanders’ versatility showed in Belmont Shore’s 69-42 win over Southwest Rebels 17 (AZ) – scoring 17 points, grabbing 7 boards and dishing out 4 assists. Son of former USC forward Yamen Sanders has a strong physique, is athletic at the rim, can grab rebounds and push rock baseline to baseline, posts up on block with effectiveness and can connect from deep.  Multi-position player should be a coveted MM+ prospect with HM upside.

Nick Jefferson                  6’1”    2025   Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas NV)
Wiry and quick guard is elusive off the bounce and pushes tempo in transition. Vegas Elite 16 EYBL needed somebody to step up in the 2nd half of the game versus KOB Basketball 17 and answer the offensive outburst of Kaiden Bailey’s 42 point explosion and Jefferson was up for the challenge – hitting 3 key three-point buckets that allowed Vegas Elite 16 EYBL to outlast KOB 68-60.

Justin Daniels                  6’5”    2023   Colorado Prep (Denver CO)
Athletic scoring combo-guard from SoCal has deep range of his jump shot and is a very underrated “drive and kick” facilitator. Younger brother of DeAndre Daniels (key member of 2014 NCAA national champion UConn squad and Toronto Raptors draft pick) scored 15 points in Belmont Shore’s win over Southwest Rebels 17 tonight.

Jacob Bayla                     6’5″    2024   Valley Christian (Cerritos CA)
Sturdy WG with soft perimeter stroke was part of a balanced Belmont Shore 17 winning attack – scoring 15 points with an assortment of spot-up jump shots and drives to the cup. Terrific student (4.3 GPA) is a member of the Philipines U16 National Team.

Elijah Summers-Livingston       6’7”    2026   Basha (Gilbert AZ)
Vegas Elite EYBL 15u standout is a rangy forward that runs floor well and can catch and score in traffic. Very good student with HM upside.

Will Smith                         6’4”    2023   Bishop Montgomery (Torrance CA)
One of the West’s top unsigned seniors is a chiseled and rugged WG that can score through contact, pull-up with accuracy in the mid-range and defends with intensity. Great student too.

Caspian Jones                 6’7”    2025   St. Mary’s (Phoenix AZ)
Well-built WF with impressive scoring ability.

Daniel Marcellinus           6’10”  2025   Prolific Prep (Napa CA)
Massive center is a very physical presence in the paint and can score on block.

Mason Abittan                 6’6”    2025   Palo Verde (Las Vegas NV)
I really like the promise of this skilled young swingman with a nice hoop IQ.  Mason is a Sin City soph to keep an eye on eye. Prominent Elite 16 (NV)16u standout is a good student too.

CJ Shaw                           6’4”    2025   Mojave (Las Vegas NV)
Well regarded wing is a smooth scorer both in transition and in the half-court set.

Cameron Williams           6’7”    2026   Centennial (Peoria AZ)
Long and agile Vegas Elite 15 EYBL forward is a Copper State prospect with intriguing upside.

Josiah Stroughter            6’2”    2026   Democracy Prep (Las Vegas NV)
Savvy young lead guard with offensive versatility.

Promise Madubugwu      6’10”  2024   Gardena (CA)
Big post-player with size and improving skills.  One to track in California’s 2024 class.

Tai Coleman                     5’11”  2026   Democracy Prep (Las Vegas NV)
Scoring lead guard is quick off bounce and can score from distance.
