Bakersfield, CA – Last Friday, Friday, October 4th, myself and Clutch Clip Hoops hosted the 4th Annual Central Cali Prospects Junior/Senior Top 40 Showcase at the beautiful Dignity Health Sports Complex right off the 99 Freeway in Central California. This event was designed to shine light on the top upperclassmen in the Central Section of California, as well as some diamonds in the rough, and featured players from the graduation classes of 2025 and 2026, the current seniors and juniors. There were 51 participants in the showcase, and they were split up and placed on five teams, which were taken from NBA team names located within close proximity to Central California: Lakers, Clippers. Suns. Kings, and Warriors. Each player played in two showcase games, which were spread out over a schedule of five games for the event.
The Clippers won the opening game over the Kings, 98 to 58. The Clippers were led by Jace Kellogg and Javon Bragg, while the Kings were led by Gus Swenning and Asher Garde. The second game saw the Lakers defeat the Suns by a score of 114 to 74. The Lakers were led by Parker Spees, Darreon Wheaton, and Kayden Lewis-Burnley, and Gavin Christian led the Suns. Game 3 of the event was one of the closer games in the first half before the Clippers took over after intermission and defeated the Warriors, 113 to 96. Javon Bragg and Cloud David Laurente, while McKae Amundsen and Jeremiah Posada led the Warriors in the loss. The fourth game of the showcase, which saw the Suns take down the Kings by a score of 120 to 96. The Suns were led by Derreck Lee and Sean Smith-Sharkey and the Kings were led by Gio Cadenasso and James Miller IV. The final game of the event saw the overall Junior/Senior Showcase MOP, Parker Spees, put on a show finishing with an event scoring high of 39 points to lead the Lakers to a 122 to 98 win over the Warriors, who were led by McKae Amundsen and Remy Barnes.
The remainder of this article lists the top 40 players from the event in ranked order, based on some feedback from event personnel but ultimately I made the final decisions. Parker Spees was the Most Outstanding Player of the event, and will likely move up in the 2026 class Central Section player rankings. Spees was the clear cut choice, but there were plenty of other talented players in attendance that performed at a high level. In the article below, I provide a brief summary of how each player performed at the Junior/Senior Showcase, recorded statistics from the games, the players’ information, the number where I had them ranked, and some notes on the players’ skill set. I will be updating the Class of 2026 Player Rankings before the season starts in November and releasing an updated Class of 2025 Player Rankings around the same time.
1. 6’8 Parker Spees |2026| San Joaquin Memorial (Fresno CA)
Spees came into the event as one of the better known prospects from the Central Section and was sensational in his two games at the showcase. Spees had a single game scoring high of 39 points in the final game of the event, as well as 23 points in his opening game for an overall event scoring high of 62 points. Spees was also the top overall rebounder for the event with a game high of 14 rebounds in his first game, and 9 rebounds in his 2nd game for a total of 23 rebounds. The numbers combined with the sheer dominance on both ends of the court earned Spees the Most Outstanding Player honors for the Junior/Senior Showcase and the first player of any event we have hosted to lead the event in scoring and rebounds. Spees has a long and lengthy frame, is accurate with the 3-ball to space the food as a true stretch-four, controls the glass on both ends, has the handle to push the pace of play up the court, and is an underrated rim protector in the paint & the perimeter, with the lateral quickness to step out to the 3-point line. Spees has a smooth mid-range jumper, good court vision from the high-post, the moves to create off the perimeter with the length to shoot over most defenders, and can attack from the mid-post with nice touch around the basket. 4.0+ GPA and should be on the radar of high academic D1s & D2s. Spees has been looking extra bouncy of late and playing above the rim with more frequency as was evident w multiple power dunks off the lob!
2. 6’7 Javon Bragg |2025| Corcoran (CA)
Bragg is a wing/forward that can score the ball in the post, as well as space the floor from the perimeter. Bragg is one of the players I was looking forward to seeing in this type of setting, as I have seen him with his high-school and club teams, but the showcase environment can be tough for some players to adapt and adjust to. That was not the case for Bragg, as he would assert himself early and often and carried that into his 2nd game, finishing with 22 points and 7 rebounds, and 25 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Bragg has nice footwork in the paint, good back to the basket moves with accuracy on the turn around jumper, enough handle to put the ball on the deck and attack from the high-post, and a solid frame to absorb contact around the rim. Bragg has nice touch around the cup, good balance on the mid-range jumper when taking contact, and showed he can space the floor with the 3-ball. Solid moves to create off the dribble, controls the boards, and is a serviceable shot blocker. D2+ prospect that JUCOs should be all over right now!
3. 6’3 Darreon Wheaton |2025| Lemoore (CA)
Wheaton entered the event as one of the players I had very limited information about and left the gym as one of the top players at the showcase, with major upside and potential to still be tapped. Wheaton had games of 21 points and 25 points and showed his ability to impact the game on both ends at a high level. Wheaton is a lengthy and athletic wing/slasher that has good footwork and active hands to be a disruptive force on defense and generate turnovers that lead to transition points. Wheaton makes good use of the crossover to get by his defender, attacks downhill, and uses his length to finish with touch around the basket. He has good body control on jumpers within fifteen feet, can space the floor with the 3-ball, and nice touch around the basket. Wheaton runs the floor well in the open court, does a solid job on the glass, moves well off the ball to get to open spots, and plays with great energy and defensive intensity. Simply put, Wheaton has a knack for the ball and seemed to be in the right place and time throughout the showcase. Definitely a player to keep an eye on, and one that JUCO coaches need to monitor for next year.
4. 6’ Jace Kellogg |2026| Clovis West (Fresno CA)
Kellogg was the leading scorer at our Next Up Showcase (freshmen and sophomores) last year and he came into this year’s Junior/Senior Showcase looking to pick up from where he left off. This year, Kellogg showed he was about more than scoring, as he was the only player to log a double-double in both of his games, with 24 points and 10 rebounds in his 1st game, and 14 points and 12 rebounds in his 2nd game for a total of 22 rebounds and 2nd overall behind only Parker Spees. Kellogg keeps the ball on a string, has a lightning quick burst of speed off the bounce, nice change of pace and redirection with the ball in his hands, a legit 3-level scorer with great lift on his jumper. Kellogg has elite court vision to find open teammates, instincts to jump passing lanes to get into transition, and scores in volume. His dominance on the boards was the most impressive part of his game at the event, which also highlighted his relentless motor on both ends of the court. A 4 year prospect that JUCOs should be in contact with now despite being a 2026 prospect.
5. 5’9 McKae Amundsen |2026| Clovis North (Fresno CA)
Amundsen is a crafty lead guard that has been on a scoring tear of late with the Broncos in Fall play, and he continued that at the Junior/Senior Showcase. Amundsen had games of 21 points and 25 points respectively, as well as being one of the top 3-point shooters in the event, connecting on 8 overall in his 2 games. Amundsen has tight handles, shifty moves to create separation from his defender, accuracy with the 3-ball off the dribble or the catch and shoot, a creative finisher at the basket over height, and the court vision to drop dimes when on the attack. Amundsen makes great use of changing direction with the ball in hand, is a solid on-ball defender, and plays with relentless energy and that dog mentality. The motor, grit, and overall skill-set have him primed for a huge junior season and forging his own pathway.
6. 6’4 Gavin Christian |2026| South (Bakersfield CA)
Christian is a wing/forward that can play on the perimeter in a spread out offense, as well as operate in the post in a more traditional offensive setting with good size, strength, and skill to be a tough match-up for most defenders. Christian put up 19 points in each of his 2 showcase games and showed his ability to stretch the floor by connecting on a couple threes. Christian controls the glass, is able to defend taller players in the post, as was evident in defending two of the more dominant forwards at the showcase, has the footspeed and lateral agility to jump out and defend the 3-point line, is an underrated rim protector with good timing on altering shots, and has the handle to push the ball off the glass. Christian has good moves to create off the perimeter, can score the ball from 3-levels, has nice touch around the basket with the frame to absorb and finish through contact down the lane, and has the court vision to make good reads from the high-post. The versatility and size that Christian brings to the court make him a tough match-up for most defenders, as he can back down and score over smaller players with shot making ability to pull bigger defenders away from the basket and the moves to get by them and attack the basket.
7. 6’2 Kayden Lewis-Burnley |2027| Clovis (CA)
Lewis-Burnley was a player that I did not know about before we hosted our annual Next Up Showcase for freshmen and sophomores, but saw him in mid-September at the annual Clovis West Nike Fall Shootout with Clovis High and reached out to invite him to this event. Lewis-Burnley was the only sophomore in attendance but did not let that prevent him from showcasing his elite athleticism and ability to score in volume quickly, as he would have games of 22 points and 15 points respectively in his 2 showcase games. Lewis-Burnley runs the lanes well in the open court with the speed to get ahead of the defense for easy transition points, is effective with the 3-ball off the dribble or off the catch, does a solid job on the glass to push the pace of play, has active hands and nice footwork to stay in front of his opponent, and the strength to finish through contact when attacking down the lane. Lewis-Burnley has good handles, moves to create off the bounce, good body control when attacking the basket, and great lift on the jumper with accuracy from the mid-range to the 3-point line. The potential to be an elite 2-way player that has a knack for scoring the rock.
8. 6’2 E’saun Jefferson |2025| Monache (Porterville CA)
Jefferson is a physical and skilled combo guard that can create his own offense, as well as being a strong on-ball perimeter defender. Jefferson, a transfer to Monache from Central of Fresno, had a statement showing at the Junior/Senior Showcase and is primed for a strong senior season. Jefferson had 13 points and 8 rebounds in his 1st game and followed that up with a 21 point performance connecting on 5 threes in his 2nd game. Jefferson has tight handles, keeps the ball on a string, plays with good pace and change of direction to keep his defender off balance, has good body control when attacking the basket down the lane, and is a creative finisher around the basket. Jefferson has good court vision to find open teammates cutting off the ball, has moves to create the separation needed to get his shots off, gets good lift on his jumper, and can catch fire from beyond the arc either off the dribble or the catch and shoot. Jefferson has the build and skill to play at the next level and is a player that JUCO programs should follow throughout the year.
9. 6’3 Loukas Jones |2025| Clovis North (Fresno CA)
Jones is a wing/guard that impacts the game in countless ways and has emerged as one of the top scoring options for the Broncos throughout the Summer and Fall. Jones displayed his diverse skill set in his opening game scoring 13 points and pulling down 9 rebounds. Jones followed that up with 19 points and 8 rebounds in the final game of the event, connecting on 3 threes in that game. Jones has solid handles, the moves to create separation off the dribble, has a quick stop and pop mid-range jumper, makes great use of the hesitation and redirection with the ball to get open looks, and is a crafty finisher around the basket. Jones has good court vision to find open teammates, as was evident with the multiple lob assists he threw to Parker Spees, can light it up from the 3-point line off the bounce or the catch and shoot, and has range beyond the arc. Jones has active hands on defense to generate turnovers and easy points in the open court, alter shots on the perimeter on close-outs, does a solid job on the glass, and looks to advance the ball up the court with great accuracy on the long pass. D2 prospect that could be making his decision sooner than later.
10. 6’3 Remy Barnes |2025| Hanford (CA)
Barnes is a lengthy wing/guard that can create his own offense, as well as being a versatile and high-level defender. Barnes is coming off a productive individual season averaging about 20 points and 10 rebounds per game and has transferred to Hanford for his senior year and will look to be a key piece to lead the Bullpups to a winning season. Barnes had 12 points and 8 rebounds in his first game, which was followed by a 19-point showing in the final game of the event, and showcased his impressive two-way impact on both ends of the court. Barnes has solid handles, the height to survey over the defense from the top of the key, makes good decisions with the ball in his hands, and the court vision to find open teammates. Barnes has the moves to create separation off the dribble, can score the ball from 3-levels effectively, is a creative finisher around the basket, and has a smooth and accurate mid-range jumper. Barnes has the length and wingspan to deflect passes and alter shots on the perimeter, generates turnovers that lead to transition buckets, and can defend the 1 through 3 positions at a high level. JUCO programs need to be contacting this young man that has D2+ potential.
11. 6’1 Aden Millwee |2025| Fresno Christian (CA)
Millwee is a lights out shooting guard that can score the ball in volume, as well as create off the perimeter to get to the basket. Millwee was the overall leading scorer at last year’s Junior/Senior Showcase, and put up impressive numbers again this year, with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds in his first game and 14 points and 5 rebounds in his 2nd game. Millwee moves fluidly off the ball, gets to his shot spots for catch and shoot opportunities, makes great use of the pump-fake to get his defender off his feet, has the moves and handles to create shots off the dribble, and is a creative finisher around the basket over height. Millwee does a solid job on the glass, has the handles to push the ball up the court, can take it coast to coast or find open players up the court, gets good lift on the jumper, and when he heats up from beyond the arc he can hit threes in bunches. Another player that JUCO coaches should be following with the potential to play at the 4-year level.
12. 6’6 Agustus Swenning |2025| Kingsburg (CA)
Swenning is an athletic, lengthy, and skilled wing/forward that can operate in the post and the perimeter, but is at his best in the open court with the ability to score it or make some shifty passes to teammates running the open lanes. Swenning had games of 12 points and 6 rebounds, followed by 13 points and 5 rebounds, to go along with a handful of blocks over the two games. Swenning controls the boards, can push the ball up the court off the glass, is accurate with the 3-ball to space the floor and create driving lanes, which he has the handles to attack those lanes off the dribble. Swenning has the moves to create separation from his defender, gets great lift on his jumper, and has nice touch around the basket. Swenning alters shots in the paint and the agility to close out on perimeter shooters, has active hands to generate turnovers that lead to open court play. Swenning is a really good athlete and the bounce to go with it, as was evident with arguably the play of the event as he climbed the ladder for an impressive put back dunk over two players. Likely a JUCO player out of high school, Swenning has the tools to be a D2+ player at the 4-year level.
13. 6’ Sean Smith-Sharkey |2026| Bullard (Fresno CA)
Smith-Sharkey is a shooting guard that can catch fire from the perimeter and score in volume, as well as being an underrated on-ball defender. Smith-Sharkey went for a near double-double with 9 points and 8 rebounds in his 1st game, and then erupted for 25 points connecting on 3 threes. Smith-Sharkey has solid handles, shifty moves to create off the dribble, gets good lift on the mid-range jumper, and is accurate with the 3-ball off the bounce or off the catch, and is a creative finisher around the basket over height. Smith-Sharkey has active hands on defense, moves well laterally to stay in front of his opponent, and turns defense to offense routinely. Tough minded player that will be a key piece for the Knights this season to take some scoring pressure off of fellow juniors Ja’Vance Coleman and Dalen Felder.
14. 6’2 James Miller IV |2025| Roosevelt (Fresno CA)
Miller is a shifty and skilled lead guard that can make plays for others, as well as create his own shots. Miller scored 11 points in his first game, which was followed by a 15-point game. Miller has elite handles, keeps the ball on a string, makes great use of the hesitation and redirection with the ball in hand to get his defender off balance, has a quick stop and pop mid-range jumper, is accurate with the 3-ball off the dribble or the catch, is a creative finisher around the basket, and is able to absorb contact on shots within 15 feet of the basket. What I was most impressed with was his decision making when his perimeter shots were not falling early in his first game, as he took advantage of the defense over-focusing on him and made some great passes once the defense collapsed on him. Miller plays with great pace and makes good decisions with the ball and was another player that JUCOs need to be contacting over the next few months.
15. 6’3 Elijah Wade |2025| Garces Memorial (Bakersfield CA)
Wade is a physical and athletic wing/guard that impacts both ends of the floor, and is expanding his perimeter game to be a player that can rotate the 1 through 3 positions on offense. Wade asserted himself on the glass in his first game with 12 rebounds to go along with 6 points. In his 2nd game, Wade stepped up his scoring to finish with 14 points and 6 rebounds and nearly had play of the event, as he took off down the lane for a monster dunk that clanked off the back of the rim. Wade gets downhill with a purpose, has the moves to create separation from his defender, gets good lift on the mid-range jumper, can space the floor with the 3-ball, and can bully through contact on his way to the cup to earn trips to the line. Wade has a great motor, has good moves to score the ball in the post, and still has room to develop as an accurate shooting threat from beyond the arc. Defensively, Wade is a lock-up on-ball defender that has the strength to hold up against bigger players on switches. JUCOs should be all over this kid with D2 potential.
16. 6’1 Cliff Willis |2026| South (Bakersfield CA)
Willis is a lead guard that has the ability to create his own offense, make plays for others, and plays with good poise and control. Willis had games of 10 points and 6 rebounds followed by 15 points and 8 rebounds in the final game of the event. Willis keeps the ball on a string to survey the floor, has the court vision to find open players moving off the ball, makes good use of the hesitation and change of direction to create space from his defender, and gets to his shot spots on the perimeter. Willis is a creative finisher around the basket and has nice touch on the floater down the lane. Willis is deadly with the mid-range shot off the dribble, especially using the crossover into the 15-18 foot jumper. Willis will be the lead catalyst for the Spartans this upcoming season and will look to capture another league MVP.
17. 5’9 Derrick Lee |2025| Roosevelt (Fresno CA)
Lee is a quick and shifty lead guard that gets downhill and puts constant pressure on the opposing defense. Lee was pretty good in his first game but exploded for a Game 4 scoring high of 27 points and 6 rebounds, which was the second highest scoring output for a single game. Lee has a strong handle on the ball, shifty moves to evade his defender and create space, has a great burst of speed off the bounce, and is a tough finisher around the basket over size, with the ability to take contact down the lane. Lee is effective with the 3-ball, which opens up driving lanes for him to attack with frequency. Lee has good court vision to find open teammates when on the attack, has active hands on defense to generate turnovers, plays with relentless energy, and will be called upon to take a bigger role scoring the ball this season for the Rough Riders.
18. 6’1 Peyton Powell |2026| Justin Garza (Fresno CA)
Powell is a wing/guard that plays with relentless energy and impacts the game in multiple ways. I was not aware of his game and this was my first chance to see Powell play and he made the most of the opportunity and was one of the top stock risers from the showcase. Powell put up 12 points and 7 rebounds in his 1st game, and followed that up with 19 points in his 2nd game. Powell is active on the defensive end, causes havoc by getting into the dribbling space of his opponent, which leads to turnovers and open court baskets, and does a solid job on the boards. Powell attacks downhill with purpose, is able to finish through contact down the lane, and is a creative finisher around the basket. Powell showed that he can space the floor with the 3-ball, and has the moves and handles to attack open lanes from the perimeter. Intriguing prospect to track.
19. 6’3 Kade Johnson |2026| Bakersfield (CA)
Johnson is a rangy and athletic wing/slasher that excels in the open court and can create his own scoring opportunities. Johnson had 6 points and 7 rebounds in his opening game, but ramped up the scoring in his 2nd game, as he would finish with 16 points with 14 coming after the half. Johnson has the wingspan and active hands to generate perimeter turnovers that lead to easy points, can alter shots on the wing, and has the lateral quickness to defend the 1 through 3 positions at a high-level. Johnson gets nice lift on his jumper, is effective at spacing the floor from beyond the arc, and has the moves to shake his defender on the perimeter and attack the basket with the ability to rise up for the flush. Johnson has good handles, makes nice use of the crossover, and is at his best when slashing off the ball or running in the open court, where he is able to use his athleticism and scoring prowess to put up points quickly. Johnson will be the focal point for the Drillers this season and his style of play fits perfectly with the new coaching staff.
20. 6’ Jacob Baldovinos |2026| Garces Memorial (Bakersfield CA)
Baldovinos is a lengthy and crafty wing/guard that has made some serious progress in his development since seeing him at our Next Up Showcase last year, and he made his presence felt. Baldovinos had 12 points in his first game followed by 13 points in his 2nd game. Baldovinos has improved handles and moves to create space from his defender, accuracy on the jumper from the mid-range to the 3-point line, and the wiggle to get by his initial defender and put pressure on the defense. Baldovinos moves fluidly off the ball to get to his shot spots, can create his own shots off the dribble, and displayed good court vision to find open teammates when the defense over focused on him. Should be an intriguing piece to go along with a senior heavy Rams squad this upcoming season.
21. 6’ Noah Coulton |2026| Fresno Christian (CA)
Coulton is a shifty and skilled point guard that makes good decisions with the ball in his hands, either to make plays for others or create shots for himself. Coulton had 9 points in his 1st game and 7 points and 7 rebounds in his 2nd game. The scoring was not where Coulton shined the most in my opinion, but it was his playmaking and facilitating that I was most intrigued with in his game. He made countless reads to open teammates and showed the court vision and precision in his passes to thread the needle through the defense to hit open players for easy buckets. Coulton has nice handles, the moves to create separation from his defender, has a smooth pull-up jumper inside the 3-point line, and is accurate from beyond the arc either off the dribble or moving off the ball for the catch and shoot. Coulton plays with good pace, makes nice use of the hesitation and change of pace to shake his opponent, which gives him options to either pass or score.
22. 6’3 Logan Missler |2026| San Luis Obispo (CA)
Missler is a wing/guard that plays with good pace, makes quality decisions with the ball in hand, and can create his own scoring opportunities. Missler had 9 points and 5 rebounds in the opening game of the event. In his 2nd game, Missler suffered a shot to the bridge of his nose and the blood was flowing. I thought he may be done for the night, but he got back in the game and ended up scoring 15 points and showed the mental toughness to push through. Missler keeps the ball on a string to survey the defense, has a solid frame to absorb contact and get his shot off within fifteen feet of the basket, the moves to create separation from his defender, and showed he has the step-back 3-ball in his scoring arsenal. Solid on-ball defender, active hands and timely decisions to rip the ball from players attacking the basket, and the agility to defend the 1 through 3 positions effectively. Missler is a player I have heard a lot about but it was my first time seeing him live and he left a positive impression on myself and others in the gym.
23. 6’4 Lydell Farmer |2026| Clovis East (CA)
Farmer is a lengthy, athletic, and rangy wing/forward that can impact the game in various ways on both ends. Farmer did not have a big scoring output in his 1st game, but did pull down 10 rebounds that limited the other team’s scoring opportunities or give his team second chance points. Farmer got it going more in his second game and finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Farmer has the handles and moves to create off the perimeter, is most effective scoring the ball when he is hunting the mid-range jumper, can space the floor with the 3-ball, and has nice touch around the basket. Defensively, Farmer has the length and height to defend in the post, as well as the lateral quickness, active hands, and wingspan to deflect passes or alter shots on the perimeter, as one of the top two-way defenders in the Central Section. He will be heavily relied upon to be a force within 15-feet to take some pressure off of standout sophomore forward Asher Thompson.
24. 5’10 Jeremiah Posada |2025| Selma (CA)
Posada is a shifty shooting guard that can fill it up from beyond the arc and makes nice use of the pump fake to get his defender off their feet and get to the mid-range jumper. Posada got going early in his first game, as he would finish with 13 points connecting on 3 threes. Posada moves fluidly off the ball, has the handles and moves to create space from his defender, has a smooth jumper, and is accurate with the 3-ball off the catch. Posada will have a chance to be a key scoring contributor for the Bears, as it graduated a large percentage of its scoring from last year.
25. 5’11 Cloud David Laurente |2025| Clovis North (Fresno CA)
Laurente is a shifty combo guard that displayed improved confidence scoring the ball from various spots on the floor and is a tough on-ball defender. Laurente had a solid opening game on the boards, finishing with 6 points and 11 rebounds. Laurente caught fire in his second game and put up 21 points with a pair of threes. Laurente has tight handles, quick moves off the dribble to create separation from his defender, and is creative on finishes around the basket. Laurente has good court vision, is accurate with the 3-ball off the catch, and has the physical build to stay in front and keep his opponent from getting downhill.
26. 6’2 Kai Wilkins |2025| Frontier (Bakersfield CA)
Wilkins is a wing/guard with a strong frame and the skill to play on the perimeter but the physicality to score through contact around the basket. Wilkins had a good first game and finished off the event with a 13-point game and 5 rebounds. Wilkins has nice touch around the basket, moves well off the ball to get open looks off the catch, can space the floor with the 3-ball, does a solid job on the glass with the handles to push the ball, and showed to be a timely shot blocker from the weak side around the basket.
27. 5’9 Dominic Contreras |2025| Bakersfield (CA)
Contreras is a combo guard that can light it up from beyond the arc and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. Contreras had a decent opening game with 5 points, but showcased his shooting ability in his 2nd game with 18 points connecting on 4 threes in a row in the 2nd half. Contreras moves fluidly off the ball, gets to his shot spots for open looks off the catch, has range from beyond the arc, and can score the ball in volume when he is on from the 3-point line. Contreras has good court vision, makes good reads from the top of the key, and has the moves to create his own shots off the bounce.
28. 6’1 Landon Haynes |2026| Porterville (CA)
Haynes is a true lead guard that makes quality decisions with the ball in hand and is a good on-ball perimeter defender. Haynes did not put up gaudy scoring numbers, but did a great job of controlling the pace of play, making the right reads to find open teammates, generating turnovers and transitions points off steals, and showing his ability to connect on tough mid-range shots off the dribble. Haynes had 6 rebounds and 2 points in his first game and 6 points and 4 rebounds in his 2nd game, as he showed nice touch on shots around the basket and the poise to run the offense. Looking forward to seeing him with the Panthers this season and a player to keep an eye on.
29. 6’4 Gio Cadenasso |2025| Clovis North (Fresno CA)
Cadenasso is a wing/forward that does a solid job on the glass and gets easy points off putbacks on the offensive glass. Cadenasso had a huge double-double in his second game, as he finished with 19 points and 18 rebounds. Cadenasso gets good positioning for rebounds, uses his length to collect boards off the glass, has enough handle to push the ball up the court, and has nice touch on finishes around the basket. He had countless putback buckets from cleaning up the offensive glass and ended the event on a personal high note. The Broncos will use him this season, as it lacks size in the interior.
30. 6’3 Karan Kolappa |2025| King’s Academy (Sunnyvale CA)
Kolappa is a wing/forward that controls the glass, can spread the floor from beyond the arc, and makes good passes from the low-block. Kolappa had 8 points in his first game, followed by a near double-double of 13 points and 9 rebounds. Kolappa uses his physical frame to control the boards, makes good reads to players cutting off the ball, has good touch on shots around the basket, and has a nice jump shot with accuracy from the 3-point line.
31. 5’10 Asher Garde |2025| Garces Memorial (Bakersfield CA)
Garde is a skilled combo guard that can light it up from deep and control the pace of play on offense. Garde had a strong showing in his opening game and finished with 12 points connecting on a pair of threes in the process. Garde keeps the ball on a string to survey the floor, moves fluidly off the ball to get open for shots off the catch, has the moves to shake his defender and create space, and is accurate with the 3-ball off the dribble or the catch and shoot. Garde will be a key piece for the upper class heavy roster for the Rams. Makes good use of the change of direction and hesitation to shake his defender.
