2025 was a very good class for Southern California – producing 4 McDonald’s All-Americans (Tounde Yessoufou, Brayden Burries, Nikolas Khamenia and Alijah Arenas).  Most of the top 2025 prospects in Southern California are already off the board but they are still several good quality prospects still around for NCAA D1, D2 and DII programs.

This list includes players primarily from the Southern California area including HS seniors and post-grads that have ties to that region but does not include 2025 players that have either signed during the November signing period or have committed to colleges prior to the publishing of the article.

Trigonis Top 20 SoCal 2025s

1.       Brayden Burries               6’5”    SG     Roosevelt (Eastvale CA)
Newly minted McDonald’s All-American and Top 10 national prospect is the leader of the Ronnie Flores produced Fab 50’s #11 team in nation who claimed prestigious holiday titles at both the Tarkanian Classic (Las Vegas NV) and Classic at Damien (La Verne CA) – named tourney MVP at both events.  Smooth WG with polished shot that extends to the 3-point arc also has the strength and savvy to finish impressively at the rim. 2024 Pangos All-American Camp Top 30 Game pick rebounds very well for his size. Nationally ranked #10 by On3 and #11 by 247Sports. Lots of college heavyweights currently vying for his future services including Kansas, UCLA, Oregon, Arizona, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisville and SMU.

2.       Kendyl Sanders               6’7”    CF      IMG (Bradenton FL)/Los Angeles CA
Very versatile and athletic forward is a product of St. Bernard (Playa del Rey CA) where he played for Tony Bland (now an assistant at Washington/Big 10) and had a impressive academic profile (3.8 GPA). Sanders played well for Belmont Shore last grassroots season at the Pangos Terrific 24 (@ Indy), Pangos All-American Camp (Top 60 Game pick), Pangos Premier 80 and Pangos Sweet 16 (led squad to championship) but turned down late summer D-I overtures from the likes of UC-Irvine to spend a year under the tutelage of former long-time college coach Jimmy Carr to get stronger and better at IMG’s post-grad program.  Kendyl can finish with either hand on his sweeping drives to the cup and has a very improved perimeter shot. Averaging 14.2 points (63% FG) and 8.1 boards per game for a balanced 18-4 IMG post-grad squad that is averaging 93 points per game this season. Father Yamen Sanders played at USC during the George Raveling years and his younger brother Kyle Sanders is a promising 6-10 freshman at Bishop Montgomery (Torrance CA) that is oozing with long-term potential.  Penn, Harvard, San Jose State, Northern Illinois, Missouri State, George Mason and others showing interests for this nationally underrated player who plays winning basketball.

3.       Kenyon DeMunyck           6’9”    PF      Link Prep (Branson MO)
San Leandro CA (Bay Area) native with 7’3″ wingspan is a very long and athletic shot-blocker with a very underrated face-up ability. Kenyon is a terror running the lanes in transition and his length, bounce and huge upside make him an attractive long-term prospect.  DeMuynck played with SoCal-based Belmont Shore last Spring and Summer and was an invitee to last June’s 2024 Pangos All-American Camp where his impressive play earned his a selection to the camp’s Top 60 Game and strong reviews from scouts there including NBADraft.net which remarked: “On offense he showed potential as a shooter, finished plays off with dunks and even had a few assists for good measure. He needs some work with his handles and there are question of consistency but he did create some follow up intrigue from two NBA scouts I was sitting near.”  Among his signature games this season with Link Prep was 27 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks vs. The New School (Branson MO). Colleges showing interest include San Francisco, San Jose State, Montana (will visit), TCU, Missouri, Pepperdine, UC-Irvine & Florida A&M.

4.       Jayden Harris                   6’7″    WF     Windward (Los Angeles CA)

Swiss-army knife swingman is a productive and athletic 2-way player that is averaging 19 points, 8 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals per game this season. Terrific student (3.88 GPA) is quick in transition, has the length to be a disrupted defender and has worked really hard refining his perimeter shot. Pepperdine, Missouri-Kansas City, San Diego, Dartmouth, Cornell and UC-San Diego are among those in the mix with TCU, Nebraska and USC beginning to show interest as well.

5.       Isaiah Carroll                   6’7”    WF     Harvard-Westlake (North Hollywood CA)
Sleek and athletic forward has impressive shooting touch (38% 3FG) and the ability to get to and finish above the rim on his drives to the cup.  Isaiah is a core factor on the Fab 50’s #2 team in nation and his recent play includes efforts like his 22 points (5 threes) in H-W’s Trinity League win over St. Francis/La Canada CA at the Intuit Dome.  Solid student (3.0 GPA) at arguably California’s top academic high school is getting recruiting attention from the likes of Cal Baptist, San Francisco, Grand Canyon, Seattle and Pepperdine. Love his long-term potential.

6.       Caspian Jones                 6’7″    WF     St. Mary’s (Phoenix AZ)
Skilled scorer can put the rock in the basket in a wide variety of ways including a soft touch that extends to the 3-point arc.  Very good student (3.8 GPA) played well with Long Beach-based Belmont Shore last Spring and Summer and was a 2024 Pangos All-American Camp invitee (where he ranked in the camp’s Top 20 in both scoring and rebounding – earning him a selection to the event’s Top 60 Game). Caspian has a strong physique that allows him to be a regular factor on the glass and his impressive athleticism provides him with the ability to flush it on defenders at the rim. Jones is averaging 17.4 points (53% FG; 35% 3FG), 6.3 boards and 3.8 assists per game this year. Signature game this year was a 31 point outburst vs. Poly (Riverside CA) at the recent Torrey Pines Holiday Classic.
