2024 Ron Massey Memorial Fall Hoops Classic Preview
The 2024 Ron Massey Memorial Fall Hoops Classic is set for Saturday-Sunday September 7-8 at McBride HS (Long Beach CA). 44 HS teams are playing showcase games while 8 high school, prep schools and club teams are participating in the Pangos Elite 8 bracket. NBA players that have starred here include Lonzo Ball, Evan Mobley, Melo Ball and Jared McCain.

Long-time Mater Dei coach Gary McKnight has a veteran squad filled with skilled players and sharp-shooters that is a legitimate CIF-SS Open Division candidate and state title contender. 6-8 2026 Brannon Martinsen is a versatile and savvy multi-positional player with multiple Big 10 and ACC offers. 6-3 2026 Luke Barnett is of the most confident long-range shooters in the West. 6-9 2025 Blake Davidson is an improving post-forward with a recent Nevada offer (his brother Nick currently plays for the Wolf Pack). 6-3 2025 Owen Verna is a St. Joseph’s/PA commit with plenty of downtown range of his own. 6-6 2027 DeMarcus Henry is an athletic swingman with tons of upside. Roosevelt (Eastvale CA)
Like Mater Dei, Roosevelt is a real CIF-SS Open Division candidate with state title aspirations. Led by 6-4+ 2025 Brayden Burries (a smooth guard ranked #11 nationally by 247Sports.com and ESPN with blue blood offers from the likes of Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA and Arizona. 6-1 2025 Isaac Williamson is one of the most underrated DI guards on the West Coast. 5-10 2025 Myles Walker completes arguably the top HS backcourt trio in California. 6-4 Andre Ray and 6-3 Jackson Duffy are talented 2027 prospects with upside worth taking notice of.

Coach Tom Mott has an experienced and talented team that is a serious 2025 California State title contender. 6-5 2025 Tounde Yessoufou has been sensational at this event the past two years and is NBN Magazine’s #1 California player in 2025 but he is banged up right now and will take a visit to Arizona State this weekend. Sweden native 6-3 2026 Julius Price is a talented scoring guard with deep NBA range on his jump shot that will pick up the slack in Tounde’s absence. Young big men 6-9 2026 Abdoul Bare and 6-9 2027 Godson Eyita have plenty of HM promise. Sharpshooting 6-0 2027 Malcolm Price is the younger brother of Julius.

Beginning their 2nd year in the Nike Scholastic EYBL League, coach George Zedan has plenty of international talent available. Zedan is high on his perimeter core of 6-5 2025 Juan Guerrero-Hernandez, 6-4 2025 Aram Soqui Urbano and 6-4 2026 Sergi Olawale Kemu Monzo.
Belmont Shore (Long Beach CA)
Long time West Coast club power is fielding a team in this event and will feature a trio of top 2026 prospects: 6-8 Christian Collins (St. John Bosco/Bellflower CA/playing on Sunday only), 6-3 Kaiden Bailey (Santa Margarita/CA) and 6-5 Elias Obenyah (Salesian/Richmond CA). St. Bernard/Playa del Rey CA grad 6-7 2025 Kendyl Sanders is spending a post-grad year at IMG/Bradenton FL.
